FAQ

These are some commonly asked questions regarding the Chinese Translation. You can contact our team for unique questions.

1. Does China accept MEA Apostille from India for document translation?

While China joined the Hague Apostille Convention in late 2023, Indian documents may still need an embassy attestation from the Chinese embassy in India. This depends on the case and your visa requirements. It’s best to get this cleared by the visa authority before starting the apostille or attestation process.
The standard protocol for translation for any document is to have the original document attested or apostilled first. Once that is done, you can do the Chinese translation.
  • In the Chinese legal system, the Company Chop (Round Red Stamp) carries more legal weight than a signature.
  • If you are translating an Indian business agreement for use in China, the translation must be certified by an agency that understands the “Chop” hierarchy.
  • For a translation to be official in China, it might need a “Translation Chop” that includes the agency’s registration number — but it should match the rigorous standards of the Chinese Administration for Market Regulation (AMR).
