How to Apply for the GKS Scholarship?
There are two methods for applying for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) in 2025 to study in Korea.
Embassy set
- 1. Prepare your documents: Take 1 original set of all your documents and make 3 copies of your application.
- 2. Get all the documents apostilled.
- 3. Submit all 4 sets of documents to the Korean Embassy in Delhi. This is the Address: G6MR+Q9R, Block E, Greater Kailash II, Greater Kailash, New Delhi, Delhi 110048
University track
You can apply only to 1 university.
- 1. Gather your documents and prepare the application as per the university guidelines.
- 2. Apostille all your documents.
- 3. Courrier your application set directly to the university. Please refer to each university as they have different guidelines

- Check the Rules First: Make sure you meet all the requirements for the program before you apply.
- Get Your Documents Ready: Gather all the papers you need, like a personal statement, recommendation letters, school records, degrees, and language test scores
- Reach out to the Korean Embassy: Send your application before the deadline to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in New Delhi-110021
- Wait for the Decision: If they like your application, you might have an interview or more tests.
- Complete Additional Tasks: After getting selected, do any extra things they ask for, like medical check-ups or visa forms, and apostilling your documents.

Nationality
You must be a citizen of countries chosen by NIIED, and you should have received an invitation to join the GKS program.
Level of Education needed
- For a Master's, you need a Bachelor's degree.
- For a Doctoral program, you must have a Master's Degree.
- Research programs require a Master's degree too.
- For an undergraduate program, you should be 12th pass.
Grades are important
- Your grades should be good. Either your scores should be 80% or above, or you should be in the top 20% of your class
- Your CGPA should be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0.
Age
- You should be under 25 years old for a bachelor’s program and under 40 years old for a master’s program, but if you're an academic scholar under 45 and work for an ODA recipient, you can still apply.

- Follow any extra rules from the Korean Embassy or University.
- Be from a country that has friendly relations with Korea.
- Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or other certificates for your chosen program.

- Be healthy in both body and mind.
- Pass language tests in English or Korean, depending on your program.
